The problem

Most people already know they should stay calm, listen, and not say the thing they will regret. Knowing that does not help once you are triggered. The intensive is for people who want a usable process they can run in real conversations, not another set of ideas to remember later.

What changes

You leave able to slow a conflict down, name what is actually happening, hear the other person without collapsing or attacking, and make a clean request. The goal is skill you can demonstrate, not a promise that the other person will change.

How the training works

Four live sessions with a small cohort. Short teaching, then guided practice, then coaching on the conversations that are actually happening in your life. Between sessions you use the process so it is not theoretical by week four.

Who it's for

  • You keep having the same fight and want that pattern to change.
  • You can stay connected when things are easy, and lose it when they are not.
  • You have read about NVC or listened to the podcast and still freeze in the moment.
  • You want live practice and coaching, not another course you complete alone.

The four weeks

  1. Observation, feelings, and needs

Separate what happened from the story you tell about it. Name feelings without blame, and find the need underneath the reaction.

  2. Requests and translation

Turn vague hopes into doable requests. Translate blame, criticism, and shutdown — yours and theirs — back into feelings and needs.

  3. Emergency Empathy and listening

Use Emergency Empathy when the conversation is already hot. Listen so the other person can drop their defense, even if they have never heard of NVC.

  4. Live conversation lab and integration

Bring a real conversation. Practice the full process live, get coached, and leave with a way to keep the skill after the cohort ends.

Guarantee

If you complete the participation requirements and still cannot demonstrate the core process, you can continue in practice and training at no additional tuition until you can. This is about your skill, not a promise that your partner will change.

Questions

Are the sessions recorded?

Yes. Recordings are for people in the cohort so you can review the teaching. Live practice is still the point; the recording is backup, not a substitute.

What if I miss a week?

Watch the recording and complete the practice before the next session. Missing more than one week makes it hard to stay with the group, so talk to Micah before you enroll if your calendar is already tight.

Can I bring my partner?

Each seat is for one person. If your partner also wants the training, they enroll separately. The work is your skill in conflict, whether or not they take the intensive.

Do I need prior NVC experience?

No. The masterclass is the usual starting point. If you already practice NVC, the intensive is still useful: it is built around live conversation, not beginner theory.
